Uzbek Foreign Ministry says border with Afghanistan completely closed

The Foreign Ministry has warned that any attempts to cross the border, regardless of their reasons, will be suppressed in accordance with Uzbek law

According to TASS, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said that the border with Afghanistan was completely closed, with no land crossing through the Termez checkpoint.

“For security reasons, the Uzbek-Afghan border is now completely closed, and no land crossing through the Termez checkpoint is carried out. In the near future, the opening of the Termez checkpoint on the Uzbek-Afghan border is not planned”, – the diplomatic office’s press service informed on Monday.

The Foreign Ministry warned that any attempts to cross the border, regardless of their reasons, will be suppressed in accordance with the legislation of Uzbekistan.
