Pentagon: US needs to prepare for potential threats to Kabul airport

In order to achieve its goals, the US is willing to disregard civilian casualties

TASS reports that Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said at a regular briefing for journalists that the US defence department is assuming that the US military needs to prepare for potential new threats to Kabul airport.

“We are operating under the assumption that we need to be prepared for future potential threats [in Kabul]”, –  Kirby noted.

As an example, he cited a U.S. military drone strike on a car bomb that was intended to be used by militants of the Islamic State in Khorasan, an offshoot of the extremist organization Islamic State
