The Taliban*, who seized power in Afghanistan, killed popular folk singer and musician Fawad Andarabi, who openly supported the resistance forces, local television station Times Now reported.
According to the TV channel, on Saturday, August 28, Taliban militants came to Andarabi*. They took the folk singer out of the house and shot him. The information about the death of the singer was confirmed by the son of the artist.
In his songs, Andarabi supported the resistance forces and condemned the actions of the Taliban. In addition, in accordance with the new rules of the Taliban*, residents of Afghanistan were advised to refuse to listen to music, as it is prohibited in the Islamic religion.
“Taliban brutality continues in Andarab. Today the folk singer Fawad Andarabi was brutally killed, who simply brought joy to this valley and its inhabitants. As he sang, “our beautiful valley … the land of our ancestors …” will never submit to the brutality of the Taliban*”, former Afghan Interior Minister Masoud Andarabi wrote on Twitter.
