US President Joe Biden instructed Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to provide Ukraine with up to $ 60 million in aid from the Pentagon.
“With the power I have in accordance with the US Constitution, I delegate to the Secretary of State the authority […] to allocate up to $ 60 million for defense products and services of the Ministry of Defense, as well as for military education and training to assist Ukraine,” the memorandum, published by the press service of the White House.
The American president decided to provide assistance to Kiev on the eve of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is to be held on August 31 in Washington.
