Ukrainian ex-deputy Muraev spoke about the ultimatum of the United States and Germany, put forward by Zelensky

Former People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Muraev said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented him with an ultimatum, which had previously been agreed with the United States and Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the People’s Deputy, Zelensky’s visit to Washington, which is scheduled for August 31, largely depends on the consent of the President of Ukraine to the demands of world leaders.

“I think that the meeting will take place only in one case: if Zelensky accepts the ultimatum that Merkel brought him after meeting with Biden and after meeting with Putin,” Muraev said on the Nash TV channel.

The politician noted that Kiev has not fulfilled a number of its obligations to resolve the conflict in the east of the country. As an example, the People’s Deputy cited the refusal to implement the agreements that were adopted during the Normandy Four summit in Paris in 2019.

“If Zelensky accepts what the world has agreed on in Ukraine, it will be implemented during the meeting [of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States]. If he has any alternative options, the meeting will not take place,” Muraev summed up.
