Washington has not asked Moscow for help in investigating the terrorist attack near Kabul airport, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday
“In order to help someone, you need someone to ask. I am not aware of any requests from the Americans in this regard,” the Kremlin spokesman said when asked whether Russia was ready to assist the United States in the terrorist attack investigation.
Peskov found it difficult to answer the question of how high the threat of a terrorist threat spreading beyond Afghanistan, according to Russian intelligence.
However, he noted that, of course, all special services are now working day and night to monitor the situation in Afghanistan and to predict possible developments.
The Kremlin spokesman did not answer the question whether the Russian special services had any information about the preparation of this terrorist attack in Kabul.
“I will also leave this question unanswered. There have been widespread predictions by special services of various countries that such terrorist attacks are possible within a few days”, – the Russian leader’s spokesman added.
He was also asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin was planning a public address in connection with the situation in Afghanistan.
“No, the president has no such plans, because Russia is not part of the US-led coalition, which has been in Afghanistan for the past decades and which has completed the withdrawal of its troops, which provoked such a situation”, – Peskov said.
