German journalist calls campaign posters with Kaliningrad in Germany a provocation

Ulrich Heiden, a correspondent of the German newspaper Freitag, in an exclusive interview with News Front spoke about his view of the situation in Germany, where election posters with the Kaliningrad region as part of the country were put up

Ulrich Heiden said that what was happening was a provocation.

“These realities are inconvenient for our CDU party and there is no talk about doubting the territorial belonging of Kaliningrad”, –  explained the expert.

According to the expert, the 72-year-old images contain propaganda for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Christian-Social Union (CSU) and other parties, because – they are pre-election posters of 1949 with a map of Germany in pre-war borders, i.e. including the current Kaliningrad region, when all these parties supported the return of pre-war territories to Germany.

Right-wing extremists are currently inflaming the situation in Germany and these posters are a hidden message to the public that these parties are traitors and are not fulfilling their promises. These posters are very convenient for the radicals, who are also running in the September 26 elections.

Correspondent of the German newspaper Freitag also pointed out that there is an anti-Russian campaign going on in Germany from morning till night, and against this background, one may expect that right-wing radicals will gain strength.
For example, Alexander Gauland, chairman of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party, has once again provoked a political scandal by downplaying the crimes of Nazism, saying that German soldiers fought bravely as heroes.

“There is currently a quiet process of rewriting history in Germany and many films will not show the atrocities committed by German soldiers on the eastern front, for them World War II is about the suffering of German soldiers”, –  the interlocutor stressed.

The German right-wing radicals committing such provocations will not be able to change the situation at the elections.
As a reminder, the elections to the German Bundestag, which will form a new government, will be held on 26 September.
