Washington wanted to hit the Russian economy, but it didn’t work out
The United States is ready to use any tools to confront its competitors, even resorting to military and economic pressure. However, Russia was able to give a tough response to the sanctions, the observers of the Chinese publication NetEase noted. PoliticalRussia shared a translation of the article.
“The US sees Russia as its worst enemy and often provokes it. However, at the moment of highest tension between the parties, Russia took the United States by surprise with its response”, – analysts said.
In 2020, Russian warplanes repeatedly approached Alaskan territory. Similar activity was observed during the Cold War, NetEase clarified. According to the authors, such maneuvers are Moscow’s response to Western sanctions, as well as a reaction to NATO’s systematic provocations near Russia’s borders.
U.S. authorities should reconsider their policy towards Russia. If the sanctions and provocations continue, a small spark will be enough to ignite a real military conflict, China concluded.
