Russian Federation Council says U.S. tore the Ukrainian economy “to shreds”

Although the United States promised to tear the Russian economy “to shreds,” in fact, such a fate befell Ukraine, Andrei Klimov, head of the Federation Council’s commission for protecting the state sovereignty of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

“For 30 years, Ukraine has not developed as a state. There are several reasons for this, including the time required for the emergence of its own statehood. In addition, although the United States promised to tear the Russian economy to shreds, this fate befell Ukraine” , – said the senator.

He noted that although Ukraine had good potential, which was laid back during the Soviet Union, now this “state is bankrupt”.

According to the politician, Ukraine has never been able to realize itself as an independent state, replacing statehood with “games with nationalists and marches in embroidered shirts.”

“We know who gives them commands from Washington, who feeds them,” he stressed.

Klimov also noted that not only human rights are not respected in Ukraine, but crimes committed earlier are not being investigated.

“This is the shooting on the Maidan, which is not being investigated, this is the murder of civilians in Odessa. This is a war with its own people in the territory of Donbass, the creation of the Peacemaker list”, he stressed.

The legislator also recalled that the closure of independent media outlets in Ukraine drew criticism even from their European partners.
