The USA has imposed sanctions against Russian companies Nobility and Constanta, as well as against the vessels Ivan Sidorenko and Ostap Sheremeta due to the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. The updated sanctions list is posted on the US Department of the Treasury website
Both vessels are linked to the Nobility, the agency specified. The same was previously confirmed by the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping. Nobility is owned by SSE Limited (25%) and Oil House (75%).
The insurance company Constanta was mentioned as one of the possible risk insurers for the pipeline construction. It was established in the winter and was licensed by the Central Bank on 13 January. A few days later, it became known that the Swiss company Zurich Insurance Group would withdraw from the project and no longer insure construction because of the risk of US sanctions.
