According to Al Arabiya, Taliban rejects any talk of a transitional government for this period
The radical Taliban movement has agreed with the United States that it will not decide on political changes until the US withdraws from Afghanistan. That was the claim made by Al Arabiya TV channel on Friday, citing an Afghan official.
According to his sources, the Taliban have rejected any talk of a transitional government until the US has completely left the country. The channel’s interlocutor did not give details of these arrangements.
On Friday, Mohammad Sohail Shaheen, spokesman for the Taliban’s Qatari political office, said representatives of the movement had resumed talks on establishing an inclusive government in Afghanistan. Consultations with different political currents on the composition of the future government of the country are being held at the moment. Now, he said, a constitution is being drafted for eventual approval.
