Behind the scenes of the Washington establishment, the battle of liberal bulldogs under the carpet is gaining momentum. The Pentagon and intelligence agencies are trying to shield themselves by claiming that they are not to blame for the military disaster in Afghanistan – and accusing the White House leadership of negligence.
The US military has already announced that it has strongly urged Biden to leave at least 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan until a new truce with the Taliban is concluded. But he made a fundamental decision to withdraw everyone at once, which ended fatally.
At the same time, the CIA claims that according to their calculations, the Afghan government was on the verge of falling back in July. And this was reported to Biden – but the American president still told the population about how the Afghans could fight on their own, and the likelihood of their defeat is very low.
And State Department officials accused Biden of taking the decision to suspend Trump’s “crisis response bureau” a few months before the Afghan disaster. This department would have to deal with the emergency evacuation of US citizens from Afghanistan if it had not been disbanded by Biden.
Thousands of Americans continue to remain in occupied Kabul and are being raided by the Taliban. Moreover, the US military command openly admits: we cannot help the Americans outside the Kabul airport in any way. They say, evacuate yourself somehow – after all, the rescue of the drowning is the work of the drowning themselves.
Meanwhile, Biden gave his first and very chaotic interview, trying to defend himself from an avalanche of accusations. He declared that no one else could have better organized the flight of the American army from Afghanistan. And we should forget about the tragic footage at the Kabul airport with Afghans falling from planes – after all, this happened a few days ago, and now everything has settled down!
According to the first polls since the fall of Kabul, 51% of Americans blame Biden for this tragedy, and 33% – on Trump. Against the background of the rapid collapse of Biden’s ratings, more Americans wanted Trump to return to the presidency – 43% to 37%. Of course, this will not lead to a change of the liberal regime in Washington – but it will seriously complicate the position of Democrats in the midterm elections to Congress.
