According to the deputy head of the department, Alexander Pankin, the situation in Afghanistan is always on the CSTO agenda.
According to TASS, on Thursday the deputy head of the department, Alexander Pankin, told reporters that the Russian Foreign Ministry does not see the need for “escalation in order to demonstrate force” at the level of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in connection with the situation in Afghanistan.
“The situation in Afghanistan has always been a subject of discussion by the CSTO, countries have held consultations, statements are made”, he said, adding that “Russia is in bilateral negotiations with Kazakhstan”.
