Zakharova on US inaction in Afghanistan: Western “solidarity” is limited to collective Russophobia

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova commented on the situation in Afghanistan, which is developing against the background of the seizure of the country by the Taliban*.

In her Telegram channel, the diplomat drew attention to the fact that the United States and its Western partners are not ready to solve the crisis that arose because of their actions.

“Judging by the situation in Afghanistan (by the way, it is similar to countering the pandemic), the collective West is able to show its notorious ‘solidarity’ only in two cases: in relation to Russia, when Russophobia needs to be cut in, and in words,” she wrote.

In Afghanistan, an extremely tense situation remains, which will entail a new round of the migration crisis in Europe and other problems that the United States and the European Union must face. After all, it is their “struggle for democracy” that leads to these problems. However, now the West is not even ready to help everyone who wants to evacuate. As in any crisis situation that Washington and Brussels themselves cause, they hurriedly leave the disaster zone. They leave the issues to someone else. Probably (as often happens) this role will fall on Russia.

By the way, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky has already announced his version of the fight against the crisis in Afghanistan. He suggested raising this issue at the level of the UN Security Council and organizing the evacuation of all who wish to leave the country.
