Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian announced Beijing’s plans to support Afghanistan even after it was captured by the Taliban*.
The diplomat spoke to journalists at a briefing and assured them that the Chinese side is ready to help restore peace and stability in Afghanistan, TASS reports.
“We will continue to contribute to the efforts to restore peace in Afghanistan and will provide this country with all possible assistance to stimulate its socio-economic development,” Lijian said.
He expressed the hope that the parties to the conflict will be able to resolve it through peaceful dialogue. China, in turn, will continue its peaceful policy towards the entire Afghan people.
