Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev did not rule out that a civil war could start in Afghanistan if the government changes in the republic, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, the radical Taliban* stated that it had established control over the territory of the Islamic Republic.
According to him, the power in the country was seized by not too enlightened forces, and their perception was hopelessly lagging behind the values of the civilized world. Kosachev noted that the Taliban derive their strength “from the fanaticism of the faith and from ancient traditions.”
The Vice Speaker is convinced that the nature of the future regime, taking into account the experience of 1996-2001, is easily predictable. He stressed that the Afghan people may face the hardest trials “right up to a new civil war on ethnic, confessional and political grounds.”
Kosachev also noted that he does not advise other countries to intervene in “intra-Afghan troubles” taking into account the sad experience of the British, Soviet and American empires. Moreover, he called for the whole world to help the people of Afghanistan, “despite the firewood broken by the Americans and their henchmen alone.”
Last Sunday, the Taliban * announced the establishment of control over the entire territory of Afghanistan. After that, President Ashraf Ghani announced his resignation and went abroad.
Power passed to the governing council, which included former President Hamid Karzai and former Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah, who oversees the work of the National Reconciliation Council.
The Taliban* said that there would be no transitional government in the republic, but did not rule out that various political forces would be included in the new Cabinet.
Earlier, it was reported that Biden spoke about the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
