Government forces surrender Bagram airbase to Taliban

Earlier, News Front reported that the Taliban has announced that it is taking control of the entire territory of Afghanistan.

The situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated in recent weeks with an offensive by the Taliban in the country’s major cities. On Sunday, media and sources said the Taliban controlled all of Afghanistan’s border crossings, were on the outskirts of the capital and had taken control of Kabul University.

Meanwhile, the Afghan presidential administration said it was in control of the situation in Kabul, Al-Arabiya TV reported.
The Taliban later said they had no intention of retaliation, all officials in Kabul would be safe and no one should flee the country. Afghanistan’s acting interior minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal later assured that Kabul would not be attacked and the transition of power would proceed peacefully, local TV channel Tolo News reported.
