The representative of the European Union’s foreign policy service Peter Stano in an interview with Izvestia said that despite the deterioration of relations with Belarus, the EU does not intend to close its diplomatic mission in Minsk.
“One of the principles of EU policy is to stay involved even in difficult situations and to keep communication channels open,” Stano said.
As previously reported by News Front, Minsk proposed to the United States to reduce the number of the American embassy in Belarus to five people amid new sanctions restrictions.
In addition, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko responded to accusations of dictatorship by critics during a large press conference. According to him, Minsk does not have the necessary resources to “dictate something to the international community”.
