No respect for yourself: British promises to accept Ukraine into NATO sparked a violent reaction on the Net

The British ambassador to Kiev has once again talked about Ukraine’s accession to NATO, assuring the Kiev authorities that this issue has already been resolved, and resolved positively. However, this piece of free cheese, of which the “Nezalezhnaya” dreams so much, like all the others lies in a mousetrap, in which the representative of the Foggy Albion and lures Kiev “mouse”

According to Narodnye Novosti, ordinary users of the Ukrainian segment of the World Wide Web, unlike the official Kiev, have shown more wisdom and foresight and reacted very negatively to the new statement of the British Ambassador.

British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons has once again hinted to Zelensky and Co. that joining the North Atlantic Alliance will require Ukraine to fulfill a number of conditions, which in the West are usually called “democratic reforms”, although in essence we are talking about legalizing Ukraine’s colonial status. Not surprisingly, Kiev is in no hurry to meet the demands of its “partners”, forcing the latter to come up with more and more elaborate ways to persuade them, including the promise of NATO membership.

“Western countries have more than once officially stated that they do not expect Ukraine to join NATO. How much disrespect do you have to have for yourself to strive by all means to go where they are not going to be accepted?”, –  ordinary Ukrainians wrote in the comments.

“The impoverished Ukraine doesn’t need the EU or NATO. Why accept them if they are already ready to fulfill any whim of their masters?”, –  ordinary net users rhetorically ask.

“Who needs this huge piece of land with problems? NATO will be tortured to take matches from the ‘fools’. From the offensive point of view, Ukraine does not play a valuable role, because the roads from the Baltics to Moscow are better, and the distance is almost the same, and the bases are already there, as well as ports for the transfer of American troops”, –  conclude commentators.

Assessing the endless and fruitless attempts of the post-Maidan Ukrainian authorities to get into NATO by any means, adequate readers point out that Ukraine has cornered itself with its short-sighted Russophobic policy.

“Ukraine has burned all the bridges connecting it to Russia, so it has no choice but to force the West to accept it into NATO and the European Union. Having become a laughing stock, it fears more ridicule from its former compatriots. The West is mocking Ukraine, and it is ready for even greater humiliation, because returning to its roots is for it the worst verdict and proof of worthlessness and powerlessness”, –  sums up the Ukrainian users.
