The Taliban* took another city in northern Afghanistan without a fight

The Taliban* have taken over the capital of another province. We are talking about the city of Aybak, the administrative center of the Samangan region, which is located in the north of Afghanistan.

TOLO News reported on the terrorists’ advancement. The settlement was taken without a fight: local elders asked the authorities to prevent hostilities in the city.

“Unfortunately, Aybak, a town in Samangan, was captured by the Taliban at about 2:30 today,” Abdalela Mohammadi, a deputy from the affected region, told parliament.

Afghan soldiers retreated from Aybak. The Taliban were able to take over the police headquarters and the National Security Directorate.

The northern part of the country has suffered the most from terrorist attacks. Yesterday they captured another city – Kunduz.

It is of strategic importance, as it is used by highways to Kabul and other large settlements.
News Front has already reported on the Iranian authorities’ decision to close their borders. They were forced to do this against the background of the Taliban approaching their territory, which took control of Zaranj, the administrative center of the northern capital of Nimroz.
