Taliban militants* tried to break into the capital of another northern province of Afghanistan – Balkh. Security forces repulsed an attack on the city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
This was reported by IA Krasnaya Vesna, referring to the statement of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan. They added that the Taliban attacked the positions of the army in the Dihdadi and Nahri Shahi districts. They are adjacent to the settlement.
Afghan soldiers killed about 150 terrorists. At the same time, 80 of them were killed during air strikes, which were inflicted by the Air Force. In addition, they managed to eliminate the militants’ hideout, a large number of weapons, ammunition, equipment and explosives.
Earlier News Front reported that over the past 24 hours, the Afghan armed forces have killed more than 360 Taliban*. But the situation in the country is still tense. The terrorists took the administrative center of Samangan province – Aybak without a fight.
