The British authorities are imposing new sanctions against Belarus. The government has chosen “violation of human rights and suppression of democracy” as the reason for these sanctions
In addition, London has claims to President Alexander Lukashenko personally. He accused him of rigging the elections.
“Products of Lukashenko’s state-owned enterprises will not be sold in the United Kingdom and our airlines will not interact with aircraft from the president’s distinguished luxury fleet”, – the British government’s website said.
Earlier, the Lithuanian and Polish prime ministers Ingrid Szymonite and Mateusz Morawiecki spoke of new restrictive measures. They made a joint statement urging to impose new sanctions against Belarus.
Lukashenko himself discussed the attitude of Europe and the USA to Belarus with a BBC journalist today during the “Big Talk with the President”. He warned that such behaviour threatens to aggravate relations with Russia and Belarus. Sooner or later the West risks unleashing a third world war.
