Latvia fears military incidents between NATO and Russia on the border with Belarus

Latvian Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevichs expressed concern in connection with the upcoming Russian-Belarusian military exercises, reports Financial Times

According to the minister, the upcoming exercise “West-2021” may lead to military incidents with NATO troops, stationed in the territory of Latvia.

As Rinkevics notes, such fears are related to the fact that NATO representatives may misinterpret certain actions of Moscow and Minsk, especially against the background of the migration crisis on the Latvian-Belarusian border.
