Biden’s new plans to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan revealed

President Biden has not changed his plans to withdraw US troops from the country, The New York Times reports, citing a senior official in the presidential administration

A White House spokesman said Biden was briefed on what was happening in Afghanistan, and his aides were in contact with the American embassy in Kabul.

This information was also confirmed by White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

“The president has made it clear: after 20 years of war, it’s time for US troops to come home. He also said the Afghan government and the Afghan National Defense Forces have the training, equipment and numbers to prevail, and now is the moment to show leadership and will in the face of Taliban aggression and violence”, –  she said.
