Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde has been criticised for revealing state secrets during a conversation with Russian pranksters
The accuser was Ttela columnist Rune Lanestrand. In his piece he reported that Linde had managed to divulge secret details of the foreign policy game in the European Union and political deals between the countries to the Russians.
Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) and Alexei Stolyarov (Lexus) called the Swedish minister in late July. They spoke on behalf of Alexei Navalny’s wife Yulia and his associate Leonid Volkov.
“Opposition activists” asked Linda to give money for a new investigation “into Russian officials” allegedly planned by Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation.
After favorably listening to the Russian “fighters against corruption”, Linde informed them that they could count on financial assistance from Sweden. However, she stressed that this should not be discussed over the phone and not with her.
