British ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons has said that normal relations between the UK and Russia are impossible as long as the so-called “Russian aggression” against Ukraine continues
According to German journalist Alexander Rahr, Britain’s relations with Russia are indeed upset.
“But Britain is the kind of country that has always, since the emergence of the Russian empire on the world stage, seen Russia as a competitor, an opponent and fought Russia (except for the two world wars, when a stronger imperial Germany turned out to be England’s main enemy). The West fought Bolshevism and Communism in Russia in the 20th century and “embraced” the new Russia after the Cold War. London did not. England leads the struggle in the world today against the national Russia”, – Rahr shared his expert opinion with News Front.
