Against the background of a new exacerbation of the situation with the coronavirus in the United States, the expected and very indicative confrontation erupted between the federal center and the American states, many of which do not consider it necessary to follow any prescriptions of the Biden administration.
The recent return of restrictive measures has been ignored by most states and even many liberal metropolitan areas like Boston. Only in some cases did the local authorities follow the lead of the White House and agreed to introduce them. For example, in New York, from now on, access to restaurants and fitness clubs for unvaccinated people will be closed.
However, the progressive public demands to go even further: the widow of Steve Jobs called for the addition of all unvaccinated potential terrorists to the database who are prohibited from flying. By the way, she herself owns two private jets: she, a representative of the liberal nomenclature, will never be affected by any restrictions.
Meanwhile, Biden has lashed out at the authorities in Texas and Florida, which refused to obey his orders. Florida Governor Ron DiSantis replied to Biden simply, sending him to hell. He is considered one of the top Republican contenders in the 2024 presidential election and has no sympathy for Biden.
Moreover, in Texas, the federal government itself had a hand in the new outbreak of coronavirus. It has released at least 7,000 illegal migrants who have just crossed the US border and tested positive for coronavirus. The migration crisis does not even think to end: the number of illegal border crossings in July exceeds 200,000.
But the loudest scandal was caused by the decision of the White House to extend the moratorium on the eviction of tenants. Just recently, the Supreme Court allowed this moratorium to be maintained until the end of July. But the Democrats decided that such trifles as the courts and the constitution were not a decree for them.
The crisis of confidence in the federal government and the specific figure of Biden is translating into the fact that it is now simply impossible to implement a single nationwide strategy to counter new strains of coronavirus. When a house is divided, it cannot be controlled.
