Dmytro Kuleba, Ukrainian Foreign Minister, and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak arrived in the United States to prepare for Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington.
They met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, with whom they discussed the meeting of American leader Joe Biden with Zelensky. This is stated in a message on the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Apart from the visit of the guarantor to the United States, politicians discussed the cooperation of the countries. In particular, they talked about the development of cooperation in the security and military-technical areas. They also touched upon the topic of economic development and energy security.
Kuleba told tales that Kiev is successfully implementing reforms. He paid particular attention to the judicial sphere. Blinken listened to the Kiev representatives and, according to tradition, declared the support of the States. He did not miss the opportunity to encourage Ukraine’s “North Atlantic” aspirations and its plans for the “Crimean Platform”.
Zelensky’s visit to the United States will take place on August 30. Talks about negotiations with Biden began in June, and Kiev was optimistic that the meeting of the two presidents would take place in July. However, Washington decided otherwise and postponed it to the end of the summer, not listening to the desire of the Ukrainian side to hold it until Independence Day. Some experts believe Zelenskiy’s trip could have a profound effect on the Ukrainian authorities. Political analyst Maxim Zharov even believes that the negotiations will end in early presidential elections in Ukraine and Zelensky will lose power.
