Georgian opposition asked for help from Russian President

An open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request for help was sent by the opposition political party Alliance of Patriots of Georgia.

According to IA Krasnaya Vesna, the text of the letter was published by one of the leaders of the party Irma Inashvili on August 3 on her page on the social network “Facebook”.

The letter says that the parties “Georgian Dream” and the “National Movement” under the leadership of the United States “are destroying the country and gradually destroying statehood”. The authors asked the Russian leader to help foster dialogue between Georgia and Russia.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the opinion polls conducted in Georgia indicate that 76% of the country’s residents welcome relations with the Russian Federation. Representatives of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia also proposed to cooperate not only at the government level, but also in the field of cultural and social projects.
