As the Politika newspaper notes, the states prefer to maintain confidentiality because of possible pressure from the US
The Serbian newspaper Politika reported on Monday, citing sources, that ten countries are ready to withdraw their earlier decisions to recognise the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo.
“The newspaper does not disclose the list of countries that have made relevant pledges to Belgrade, but reports that they are Asian and African countries that prefer to remain confidential due to possible US pressure on them. The newspaper notes that the unrecognised republic is likely to lift its moratorium on diplomatic action to recognise and withdraw recognition of Pristina in early September”, – it is reported.
The newspaper notes that Belgrade is hoping for support from Russia and China, while more than 100 UN member states are taking action to recognise Pristina and integrate Kosovo into international organisations.
