Ukraine may demand special ally status from US amid NSP2 launch

Ukrainian political expert Taras Semenyuk has advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to demand special ally status from his US counterpart Joe Biden amid the launch of Nord Stream 2

“I think strategically the issue of Nord Stream 2 has already been resolved, I think the US and Germany have decided on this project. We should, for example, demand and ask the US for a special status of an ally outside NATO”, –  the expert said on air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

In his opinion, Zelensky may raise this topic at the upcoming meeting with Biden to be held in Washington. Semenyuk said that after the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is launched, the threat to Ukraine’s national security will allegedly increase.

As News Front previously reported, the Nord Stream-2 project is 99% complete. The launch of the first blue fuel through the pipeline may take place as early as 2021. According to experts, the Russian “Nord Stream – 2” can save Europe from high gas prices.
