Press secretary of the Minister of Interior Lina Laurinaityte-Grigene reported that two armored vehicles and a water cannon were brought to the migrant camp, located at the training ground in Rudninkai, BNS reports
The Lithuanian Interior Ministry stressed that these are common measures, used in other countries to maintain order in the area of mass accommodation of illegal migrants. The ministry also promised to organize all necessary measures to maintain public order in places of accommodation of illegal immigrants.
“We understand people’s worries, but we do our best to reduce them. We constantly communicate with local residents, the mayor of Rudninkai, we will provide all the information, consult, find common solutions”, – said Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior Vitaly Dmitriev.
