The United States will fire 182 employees of the American diplomatic mission in Russia due to Moscow’s ban on hiring foreigners and third-country nationals to the United States.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is quoted by the press service of the State Department.
“Since August, the Russian government has prohibited the United States from retaining or hiring employees from Russia or third countries, with the exception of guards. We are upset that this will force us to fire 182 local employees from our diplomatic missions in Moscow, Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg”.
At the same time, Blinken noted that the United States will fulfill its obligations by continuing to maintain a predictable and stable relationship with Russia.
