According to the Russian senator, the role of Russia in European and world affairs is much larger than the fools in the US and Europe are trying to prove, who talk about Russia as a “regional power”.
In his tg channel, the well-known Russian politician and publicist Alexei Pushkov said that in fact Nord Stream 2 and, by definition, Russia’s energy policy have become one of the most prominent topics in world politics with the participation of the US administration, the US Congress, Germany, Poland, Baltic countries, etc.
“Regional Power”? With which the United States is negotiating strategic stability – the only country in the world? And about which the US Congress intends to come into conflict with the White House?” – asks Pushkov rhetorically.
“Do not console yourself. And don’t make people laugh”.
The expert recalled that Barack Obama was the first to fall into this conceptual trap, annoyed by his inability to “tear to shreds” the Russian economy.
“Then the late Senator McCain; then the failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who repeated other people’s nonsense about Russia as a “gas station”, since he had no thoughts of his own; and, finally, a host of stupid experts who tried to integrate themselves into the line of belittling Russia”, said Pushkov.
