Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with Turkish President Recep Erdogan: they discussed the situation with forest fires in the south of the republic and cooperation in other areas, the Kremlin press service reported.

The Russian leader confirmed that Moscow will continue to help Ankaraya, and Erdogan “warmly thanked for the weighty support provided”.

The parties also positively assessed the results of the meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission held the day before. In addition, they expressed a mutual disposition to work together to implement the agreements reached in the trade, economic, energy and other spheres.

Forest fires are raging in the southern regions of Turkey. The fires were recorded in the provinces of Adana, Antalya, Mugla, Mersin, Osmaniye, rescuers took control of them. Forests are burning near the popular resorts of Bodrum and Marmaris, in the area of ​​which guests of several hotels were evacuated. Subsequently, they returned to their places of stay.
At the same time, the Russian Consulate General called on the Russians to be ready for evacuations and other emergency measures by the authorities.
