Armenia stated that the Azerbaijani side tried to carry out engineering work using technology.
As reported by TASS with reference to the Armenian Defense Ministry, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces at about 6:30 am (5:30 Moscow time) opened fire on Armenian positions in the area of the Yeraskh settlement of the Ararat region of Armenia.
“Azerbaijani servicemen opened fire on Armenian positions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border near the Yeraskh settlement. The Azerbaijani side tried to carry out engineering work using technology. By retaliatory actions, the activity of the enemy was suppressed”, – reads the statement of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
As of 11:00 (10:00 Moscow time), the situation on the border is under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces.
The situation on the border has remained turbulent since 12 May. Then the Armenian military department stated that the Azerbaijani armed forces, in order to “adjust the border”, tried to carry out “certain work” in one of the border regions of the Syunik region. Since then, both sides have periodically reported incidents.
