State debt of Ukraine continues to grow rapidly

The press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported on the state of the state debt of Ukraine.

As of the end of June, the state and state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 2,514.36 billion. In dollar terms, the debt reached $92.52 billion.

At the same time, it is noted that during June 2021 the amount decreased in hryvnia equivalent by 2.36 billion hryvnia, and in dollar terms the debt increased by 1.0 billion dollars. This dynamics is explained, among other things, by the strengthening of the hryvnia. The dollar fell 1.2% in June to UAH 27.18.

Meanwhile, Ukraine faces peak payments on external debts in 2021. According to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the country needs to pay off almost $ 20 billion in loans.

Former Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov predicted famine for the country if the government fails to cope with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
