Colombian President Ivan Duque has said that a criminal group is hiding in Venezuelan territory, which, according to Colombian investigators, is responsible for the assassination attempt against him
“The dictatorial regime in Venezuela harbours criminals like Ivan Marquez and Romagna (leaders of the disbanded left-wing Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) on its territory, and this indulgence deserves the US to declare the regime a sponsor of terrorism”, – he wrote on Twitter.
On June 25, unknown assailants fired at a helicopter carrying the head of state, Colombia’s National Defence Minister Diego Molano and Interior Minister Daniel Palacios. No one was injured.
