There is nothing to boast about: in the end Warsaw didn’t get its way, says Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said in an interview with Polskie Radio on Monday that Poland has been obstructing the launch of Nord Stream 2 for several years because it believes the project is unprofitable for Central and Eastern European countries.
“We have been delaying the finalisation of Nord Stream 2 for several years. If not for our actions, this project would have been completed long ago”, – Przydacz argued. – “The longer this pipeline is inactive, the better for Central and Eastern Europe and EU unity”, – he added.
According to renowned politician and publicist Alexei Pushkov, the Poles have nothing to be particularly proud of – all their efforts have been in vain.
“Warsaw boasts that it has delayed Nord Stream-2 for several years. But there is nothing to be proud of: in the end Warsaw did not get what it wanted. It’s like pulling a football game and losing it in the end. One can console oneself with the fact that they resisted. But it is the scoreline that counts. And the score is not in favour of Poland”, – Pushkov tweeted.
