Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov intends to convene an extraordinary parliamentary session on August 23
According to Interfax-Ukraine, Razumkov proposes to adopt an appeal to international organizations, governments and parliaments of foreign countries to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the “Crimean platform” to counter “Russian aggression”.
“Razumkov wants to convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada on 23 August because of the ‘Crimean Platform’. “A letter has been sent to MPs to collect signatures for calling an extraordinary session of the Rada”, – Goncharenko, an MP from the European Solidarity faction, wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, MPs are proposed to consider draft resolution No 5775 “On the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada to the UN, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament, the government and foreign parliaments regarding the strengthening of international cooperation within the framework of the ‘Crimean platform'” at this extraordinary meeting.
The authors of the document include Rada speaker Dmytro Razumkov, first deputy speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, deputy speaker Olena Kondratyuk, as well as MPs from different factions and parliamentary groups. The authors of the document also propose to call upon foreign partners to strengthen political, diplomatic and economic pressure on Russia.
