Chinese internet users demand WHO inspect US military biolab

Chinese internet users are demanding that the World Health Organization (WHO) inspect the US military biolaboratory at Fort Detrick. More than ten million people have already signed an online petition with this demand

The open letter states that Washington has yet to explain the temporary closure of the laboratory in the summer of 2019. Just as a wave of pneumonia of unknown origin, later dubbed Viper disease, swept through the US. And then an outbreak of the unknown pneumonia occurred in two nursing homes near the Fort Detrick lab.

The letter also says that to prevent the next epidemic, WHO should pay special attention to laboratories around the world that are conducting research on dangerous viruses, as a leak of any of them would pose a serious danger to the whole world.
