Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, acting U.S. Charge d’Affaires George Kent commented on the sanctions that Washington imposed on Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoysky
According to him, the ban on entering US territory is only the first step taken by the State Department against the businessman.
“There are other possibilities – I mean the Treasury Department. So this is not the end of this story. And the question is also with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and our Department of Justice. Last year it became known that there is a case against Kolomoisky. And we will see how it ends. But we know that it is problematic. If things were not done according to the law in our country, it is our business, and if he did the same thing here in Ukraine, it is your business”, – Kent said.
The diplomat recalled that in the past former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazarenko had to serve several years in an American prison and later under house arrest
