In recent years, the United States has provoked an unprecedented aggravation of relations with Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
On Wednesday, Sergei Lavrov chaired a meeting of the collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry to discuss Russian-American relations.
“During the discussion, it was noted that due to the fault of Washington, which has provoked an unprecedented aggravation between our states in recent years, bilateral relations have approached a dangerous confrontational line,” the statement says.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russia is under systemic pressure, to which the United States is pulling its allies.
“Such a line of Washington, grossly violating international law, will continue to meet with firm opposition in the context of upholding the legitimate interests of the Russian Federation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
