According to Al Hadath TV channel, the strikes targeted vehicles carrying weapons to the 14th Brigade of the Shiite militia, one of which was badly damaged
The U.S. air force carried out a series of strikes on the positions of the Iraqi Shiite militia “Al-Hashd al-Shaabi” on the border of Iraq and Syria. This was reported on Sunday by the TV channel Al Hadath.
According to its sources, the strikes struck the vehicles carrying weapons of the 14th Brigade of the Shiite militia, one of which was badly damaged. There was no information about casualties and injuries among the Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi fighters.
Meanwhile, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA, a drone strike also hit a food truck near the town of Bu Kamal near the Iraqi border in Deir ez-Zor province. The vehicle was destroyed in the attack and there were no reported casualties.
This is not the first incident of this kind recently with the U.S. military. On the night of June 28, U.S. Air Force planes carried out air strikes on al-Hashd al-Shaabi positions on the border of Iraq and Syria. The attack killed at least four militia fighters. In addition, as SANA reported, a child was killed and three others were wounded in Syria. In response, the armed groups of the so-called Iraqi resistance (an association of Shiite militias in the Arab Republic) declared an “open war” against the US forces with specific operations against the American presence in the country.
