Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, recommended on Thursday the participants in the meeting of the permanent council of this international organization in Vienna to familiarize themselves with the article of Russian President Vladimir Putin “On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians.”

Putin’s article was published on the Kremlin website on July 12 in Russian and Ukrainian. In it, the president said that the West is trying to turn Ukraine into a kind of antipode to Russia for its own benefit, but Moscow will never accept this. True independence of Ukraine, Putin is convinced, is possible only in partnership with the Russian Federation, which, despite the “wall” between the two neighboring countries, is ready for dialogue on any, even the most difficult issues.
