Experts of the conservative British magazine The Spectator noted that Western countries are unable to resist the new National Security Strategy of Russia
The authors of the material remind that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation” on July 2. In fact, it is an improved version of the 2015 document. The strategy calls for “mobilising the Russian nation, even the Russian identity itself, against Western agents both inside and outside the country”.
However, the document addresses not only national security, but also other topical issues affecting the entire world. For example, strengthening confrontation with the United States and its allies. In addition, the Strategy prescribes the protection of “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, cultural and historical memory. British experts note that “the Kremlin’s response to destructive forces is staggeringly extensive.
“These measures include strengthening the family and traditional values, funding patriotic youth clubs; supporting church and religion; and promising to protect the Russian people from alien external ideas and ideals”, – writes The Spectator.
But the authors of the piece in the British magazine also call for “refuting the Kremlin’s arguments” and doing everything possible to “lure” Russia’s bright minds to study in Britain through exchange programmes and funding of various student organisations.
“Such a line could take many forms, from festivals of Russian literature to financial and logistical support for a new East European University for students and academics”, – said Dr Jade McGlynn, head of the Henry Jackson Society’s Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies at the University of Cambridge
