The US President did not provide any details of the upcoming contacts, including the location and format.

US President Joe Biden told reporters on Friday that US and Russian representatives could meet on July 16 to discuss cybersecurity issues, TASS reports citing the White House press service.

During a conversation with reporters before leaving for Delaware, media representatives asked the American leader if there would be any consequences for the Russian Federation if the Russian leadership “does not become more active on the issue” of countering cyberspace criminals.

“We have established a committee – a joint committee. I think they will meet on the 16th. I believe that we will cooperate”, – Biden said, without giving any details of upcoming contacts, including the location and format.

When asked what Biden expects from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the White House replied:

“It is inappropriate to say what I expect from him now. But we’ll see”.
