Lithuania has started building a fence on the border with Belarus. This was stated by the representative of the State Border Guard Service of the Baltic state for public relations Giedrius Mishutis.
The military sets up a barbed wire fence. Border guards are not involved in the implementation of the project. The fence will stretch for 30 kilometers in areas that are most often used by illegal migrants.
Earlier, the construction of the wall between Lithuania and Belarus was commented on by Dmitry Ofitserov-Bels, Senior Researcher at IMEMO RAN, expert at the Valdai Discussion Club. He noted that this project, designed to protect the country from migrants, once again confirmed the lack of independence of Vilnius.
