American mercenaries told why they attacked the president of Haiti

The Americans, who were detained in Haiti, admitted that they were not faced with the task of assassinating President Jovenel Moise. This was announced by the newspaper Nouvelliste, referring to the judge involved in the investigation.

According to him, the criminals wanted to detain the head of state, and the murder became unplanned.

“They said they were translators. The purpose of the mercenaries was to arrest President Moise on a warrant from an investigating judge, not kill him”, – the judge said. It remains unclear what kind of warrant is in question and who could have provided them with it.

Among the murderers arrested are two Haitian Americans. One of them, James Solage, said that he “found this job on the Internet.” He arrived in Haiti last – a month ago. Other criminals have been there for three months.

Law enforcement officers searched the detainee’s cars and found firearms, dollars, a CCTV camera server from the president’s house and his wife’s checkbook.

President Jovenel Moise was fatally wounded by a gunshot on the night of 7 July. Together with him, his wife suffered, who later died in the hospital. The office of the Prime Minister of Haiti immediately suggested that an armed detachment of foreigners was behind the attack on the head of state.
