Peskov revealed under what condition Sputnik V will be recognised in the EU

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the European Union will recognize Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine if there are no artificial obstacles of political and lobbying nature

“It is clear that there may be different positions, it is clear that so far the European Agency has not recognised our Sputnik, work in this direction continues. We are convinced that if we put aside any prejudices – whether of a political nature, artificial nature, lobbyist nature – then one way or another this painstaking work of ours will end with success and the Russian vaccine will be recognized”, – Peskov said in a conversation with reporters.

Sputnik V was developed by the Gamaleya Research and Development Centre and was the world’s first registered vaccine against the coronavirus. Sputnik V is based on a well-studied adenovirus platform that ensures high efficacy and safety.

Earlier it was reported that France had called for the non-recognition of vaccines from Russia and China. Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said that Europe was delaying the licensing of Russian vaccines for political reasons.
